Greetings, Northside High School Class of 1974! Who in the world even thought of 2024 when we were seniors about to graduate??? Close your eyes briefly and think back: Richard Nixon was president. Hank Aaron was about to make baseball history by surpassing Babe Ruth as the home run king. The Jackson 5 was on the top of the billboard hits! We were driving Volkswagens, getting 125 miles to the gallon. We weren’t taking 15 medications for health issues that weren’t even made up yet. We could remember from one day to the next. We had no idea of careers yet, let alone 401ks. We were cool.

Well, it has been 50 years, my friends, and we are having a reunion. You know you want to attend. You know that you do! You are dying to see folks you haven’t even thought about in 45 years or those you have dinner with once a month. There will never be another 50th reunion. We have set up a weekend of events so that out-of-towners can feel like they got their money’s worth. We want to see you! As geriatric, balding, medicare recipients, we have learned at least one lesson. Time is precious. Let’s do this 50th-anniversary thing!
